Is Qantas Business Class Worth It

There were a number of choices to choose from, starting with current films, dramas, classics, documentaries and Australian films, of which I saw 2 in an interesting way. There was also a wide range of TV shows and audiobooks to keep you busy. At the beginning of each selection, there was a short Qantas commercial, but I didn`t mind that and the conversation started quickly each time. Service in Business Class is almost as good as in First Class. He is warm, professional and attentive. If you`re interested in fashion, you`ll love how the crew and pilots are always impeccably dressed in their beautiful Martin Grant-designed uniforms. As Australia`s premium airline, Qantas has continuously improved its products over the decades it has been operated to support domestic and international passengers. During the pandemic, they temporarily put their famous first-class cabins on hold, but now it`s back in force. Yes, you can enjoy lounge access on any international or domestic route in Qantas Business Class. Overall, I find Qantas 737 Business Class to be an enjoyable way to fly shorter distances. If you have a lot of Qantas points left over or can afford the cost, it`s worth sitting on the pointed toe.

However, if the money or points are tight, you might want to save them for a premium experience. For those who want to use their phone or laptop, it`s possible to download the Qantas Entertainment app before your flight, where you can watch more than 2,500 hours of movies and shows. The app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, but it won`t work on a laptop. For pairing with the monitor, Qantas offers noise-cancelling headphones. Business Class passengers have access to three dedicated washrooms, one at the front of the cabin near the cockpit door and two on each side of the galley between the two Business Class cabins. I used the latter mainly because the front one always seemed busy, but the backs were rare. The flight attendants stopped regularly to wipe them, and I enjoyed the toilet and contactless sink. There was no special equipment to mention, just a bottle of hand soap. Every company relies on the quality of its employees and this is where Qantas excels. All the crew on my flights (four of them, as there is a crew change in Dubai) were very friendly and helpful in business class as well as Premium Economy. I chatted with a few of them for a long time, got their advice on things to do in Melbourne, talked about their professional lives (not everyone wants to know what it`s like to be a flight attendant) and had fun with them. They judge their interactions with you perfectly – talk when you want to talk and give you space when you want a quiet flight.

International business class flights are operated mainly with Airbus A380, A330-300 and Boeing 787 aircraft and occasionally with Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 737-800. The configuration of passenger classes varies from aircraft to aircraft. Qantas flies from LAX`s Tom Bradley International Terminal, where many airlines operate their long-haul international routes. The business class queue for check-in was quite short; There were only 2 people in front of me. One of the eternal choices for travelers with enough disposable income to expand their budget to business class is whether to spend on a comfortable seat and the perks that come with it, or whether it`s better to fly in economy class and save those dollars for on-site splendor — a fancier hotel. A few more meals in famous restaurants or an unforgettable detour, perhaps. For me, if I had to choose, it would be Qantas Business Class and Qantas Premium Economy. Just my thoughts! The 737 Business Class cabin has three rows of seats arranged in 2-2 (for a total of 12 seats).

The Qantas agent immediately checked me in and also informed me of some mandatory documents I had to complete regarding my vaccination status. The investigation was lengthy and took about 20 minutes, but it would have been necessary to enter Australia (for what it`s worth, it was never checked at entry), but other than that, my details were all correct and I was quickly given boarding passes and told where the security lines were. It is! Qantas Airways` long-haul business class has flat beds in a 1-2-1 configuration. So I received a Business Class award with Singapore Airlines from San Francisco to Sydney to arrive on the first day the country reopened and find a true frequent flyer unicorn for my return: a Qantas Business Class award for just 55,000 Alaska Airlines miles plus $110 in taxes and fees. The extra legroom is a big plus on the long flight, as the cabin is quiet as it is separate from economy and business class. Unlike the Skybed II, which has a slight elevation, the new business class seats are completely flat, providing fantastic space to spend time sleeping. These beds measure 80 inches in length with a width of 23 to 24 inches. The only drawback is the smaller footrest, which can be annoying for those with large feet. That`s why, at the end of my recent trip, I was thrilled to book an elusive business class award aboard the Qantas-Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Melbourne to Los Angeles to cover Australia`s reopening to international travellers. The experience was exactly as I remembered it, albeit a little darker than before the pandemic. I have always been in two minds about this dilemma.

Every time I travel in business class, it makes a big difference to my well-being. I`m not going to lie. I find personal attention reassuring. I like comfort. I like lounges and priority boarding. I appreciate formal food service. I like big TV screens. But what I mostly do in business class is use the bed and sleep well, which means I sleep with a lot of benefits. Flying Qantas Business Class is ideal for both regular and business travellers looking for absolute comfort, privacy and excellent access to corridors during their journey. Flights to Australia are expensive, and this one was no exception. Most one-way, nonstop itineraries you find in the store approach or exceed $10,000, but if you`re flexible enough with dates, you might be able to find some for around $5,500. With an average cost for this flight of ~$7,500, you`d redeem your Alaska miles at a price of 13.63 cents each, which is well above our rating of 1.8 cents per point.

There`s not much separation from the economy cabin right behind: no curtain, just a partition between the seats in rows 3 and 4, and a sign telling economy passengers to enter the business cabin only in an emergency (which many ignore in order to be able to use the toilet in the front, although they are nominally reserved for business class passengers). However, the flight crew rarely applies this.). On flights from the United States to Australia, all departing late in the evening, a “dinner” service is served, which is less than a full lunch. Interestingly, if you`re expecting a full meal, you really won`t have one on board at the start of your flight and may be considering eating at the airport, lounge, or home before you leave for the airport. Kits include hand cream and face cream, toothbrush and toothpaste, earplugs, eye shadows, socks and Li-Tya lip balm. On long-haul international flights, Qantas is one of the few airlines to offer slippers and pyjamas for business class. These are beautifully designed by Martin Grant and super comfortable. Boarding began with families and those who needed more time. Then the business class passengers were allowed to go to the ticket office, so the security guards let me pass and I was on the jet deck and on the plane within a minute. In short, Qantas First Class and Business Class offer incredible value for money. While the lack of Wi-Fi for long-haul flights can be a disruptive factor for some, especially those who need to work.

However, if you don`t mind not having Wi-Fi for a flight, expect a fantastic experience on board. So if you`re traveling from Perth to Hawaii, would you definitely recommend business class, especially for someone who has back pain and shouldn`t sit that long? A friend looked at Sydney to San Francisco airfare with Qantas in October and was amazed to find that it was over $9,000 for Premium Economy Class. Business class cost over $24,000. You could get a budget seat for around $2700. In the middle section, the two seats are separated by a wide armrest, and depending on the row and side you are in, you can have a wide or narrow armrest in the aisle – so it is worth studying the seating plan. How can Qantas justify selling these very poor quality seats as a business class product, especially on flights of 3 hours or more?!?!?! Shame! Shame! Shame! It was my very first time running a company on Qantas, and my overall experience was mixed. In general, the business class product gets a pretty solid rating, and that`s probably what I would say too, but there were definitely some issues. Qantas Business Class lounges are stylish and offer plenty of room to stretch out. At Sydney Airport, the Qantas International Business Lounge is located on Level 3 of Terminal 1. Expect world-class wines and easy access, including barista coffee.

Free Wi-Fi with printers (for last-minute print jobs), magazines and newspapers is also available. You can also expect a special check-in if you depart from Melbourne, Sydney or Auckland. As you`d expect, business class meals are also a treat.
