At Orion Health, these two come together to create an exciting and dynamic work environment. It`s also good to know that you`re working for a company that is at the forefront of technical innovation when it comes to improving health outcomes. Result; I enjoy coming to work every day because I have a passion for the industry I work in and Orion Health`s role in that industry. Luke Facer leads Orion Health`s global legal and compliance strategy and plays a central role in strategic planning. “I enjoy working with the management team to solve business problems and improve the company`s performance,” he says. “It puts me in a business context, and I`ve always appreciated the unique perspectives of people outside the legal profession.” Shortly after joining Orion, Facer became aware of his role in preparing for and supporting the company`s transition from a private company to a publicly traded company. “The first thing I wanted to do was prepare the company for the IPO,” he says. “This included improving governance and risk management processes and the approach of behaving more like a publicly traded company before we need it. All of this helped guide the IPO process, as it allowed for a smoother transition for the company.
In addition to leading dual listing on the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges, he also led investment banking engagement and capital markets strategy. Another personal highlight for Facer was the purchase of Microsoft`s hospital IT system, Amalga, and the structuring of Orion`s entry into the APAC and EMEA hospital businesses. The very international character of its role is obviously not without difficulties. “We have about 30 offices in more than 15 countries and are also active in many other countries outside of our offices,” he says. “It`s a challenge to follow so many different jurisdictions and related legal issues. not to mention all time zones.” Mingling with othersI started my career in a law firm, surrounded by other lawyers. When I joined Orion Health`s legal team in 2014, I realized how much I needed to learn how a tech company actually works. Headquartered in Boston, Orion is owned by Orion Health Systems International in New Zealand and develops clinical workflow and information technology applications for physicians.

When I joined the Certification team in 2017, it was as if the blinders had been removed. I started all over again. Working closely with our safety team, clinical safety experts, and research and development was eye-opening. Be kind to people We all have heavy workloads and competing priorities. If you need someone to help you with something, they will be more inclined to do so if you are kind and show gratitude when it is due. There is always time for that.
